Income and Social Security
New York adds a monthly State Supplement Program payment, called SSP, to federal SSI.
State law sets the combined SSI and SSP amount: in 2026 it is $1,081 a month for one person living alone and $1,595 for a couple living alone. The state pays SSP itself, separately from your SSI check.
