Income and Social Security
Alaska's Adult Public Assistance (APA) program adds a monthly cash payment for people 65 and older, or blind or disabled, who have low income.
It tops up SSI and other income to a set amount, which in 2026 is $1,356 a month for one person living on their own. The Division of Public Assistance pays it separately from SSI, and you apply with the state.
Applying is free. Nobody should charge you to apply.
