Good to know

  • Since April 1, 2026, Delaware follows the new federal law on which noncitizens can get SNAP: U.S. citizens and nationals, Cuban and Haitian entrants, COFA citizens, and green card holders with at least 5 years in that status or an exemption from the wait.
  • Delaware's work rule for able-bodied adults without children now covers ages 18 to 64. People 60 to 64 who are able to work and have no child under 14 at home may need to work or train 80 hours a month to keep SNAP after three months, unless they have an approved exemption.
