If everyone applying is 65 or older or gets disability benefits and no one works, you may use a shorter application and keep benefits for three years with no more paperwork. If everyone in your home is 65 or older or gets SSI, Vermont puts the benefit into your bank account as cash.

Good to know

  • If everyone in the household is 65 or older or gets SSI, Vermont deposits the benefit as cash into your bank account instead of onto an EBT card.
  • Vermont says people 16 to 64 who get 3SquaresVT may need to meet work rules unless they are exempt or excused.
  • Older Vermonters can also call the Senior Helpline at 1-800-642-5119.
