Good to know

  • Oregon says adults 18 to 64 who are able to work and don't have a child under 14 on their case may need to meet work rules to keep SNAP longer than three months in three years, unless they are exempt.
  • People 65 or older in Clackamas, Columbia, Multnomah and Washington counties can get SNAP as a direct deposit, a check or on an EBT card.
  • Oregon says that as of Sept. 18, 2026, getting SNAP may count in an immigrant's public charge test, though many immigrants, including refugees and people seeking asylum, are exempt. Oregon Legal Aid's Public Benefits Hotline (800-520-5292) can advise before you apply.
