Good to know

  • Florida's SUNCAP program, which let people on SSI get food assistance through Social Security, ended Sept. 30, 2026. DCF is writing to SUNCAP households between October 2026 and March 2027 to explain how to keep getting food assistance through DCF.
  • Florida says people 16 to 64 must work or take part in a work program if assigned, unless they have a good reason, such as getting SSI or Social Security disability. People 65 and older don't have to.
